Our esteemed client, a leader in petrochemical manufacturing and distribution, is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Researcher to join their dynamic R&D team.
Major Responsibilities:
- Strategic Roadmap Development:
- Formulate comprehensive product and application development roadmaps for new applications, setting ambitious targets to propel polymer business growth.
- Drive the creation of business value by enhancing high-value products and solutions in alignment with strategic market goals.
- Technical Expertise:
- Provide valuable technical perspectives to the business team to aid in the development of the Strategic Market Plan, New Application and Product Development, and Rapid Market Assessment.
- Collaborate closely with the business team and customers to ideate new products with a differentiated value proposition.
- Product and Application Development Leadership:
- Lead the end-to-end process of product and application development, including resin development, material compound formulation, application, and solution.
- Collaborate with the development team to design product properties and criteria for application testing.
- Support product engineering design and simulation in collaboration with product designers.
- Lead projects through the “Stage-gate” process, ensuring effective consideration by the gate committee.
- Knowledge Management: Manage and share knowledge, adhering to intellectual property management practices to build up product and business values for customers and leverage
- Innovation Culture and Leadership:
- Strengthen the “Innovation Culture” within the Emerging Application Development team through effective leadership, coaching, and performance management.
- Uphold core behaviors, functional and core competencies, career paths, engagement, and quality, safety, health, and environment (QSHE) standards to support business growth and
- Portfolio Management and Continuous Improvement:
- Manage the product and application development portfolio and performance.
- Promote continuous improvement of guidelines, standards, and procedures to ensure effective R&D project execution under good governance and risk management and sustainability.

- Manage and share knowledge, adhering to intellectual property management practices to build up product and business values for customers and leverage
5. Innovation Culture and Leadership:
- Strengthen the “Innovation Culture” within the Emerging Application Development team through effective leadership, coaching, and performance management.

6. Portfolio Management and Continuous Improvement:
- Manage the product and application development portfolio and performance.
- Promote continuous improvement of guidelines, standards, and procedures to ensure effective R&D project execution under good governance and risk management and sustainability.
Qualifications:
- Master or Ph.D. degree in Polymer Science, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Applied or Industrial Chemistry, or an equivalent field.
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial/academic research experience in Product and Application Development of Polymer/Material Science or a related industry, with a preference for experience in Polymer Compounding and Automotive sectors.
