Purpose

Leads the assigned business portfolio with responsibility for revenue growth, market expansion, and overall commercial performance. Ensures customers receive accurate guidance, well-aligned technical solutions, and consistently high service standards. Identifies and develops new markets, accounts, and business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Sets operating objectives for the division and drives initiatives to strengthen performance.
  • Formulates commercial plans covering sales, marketing, and technical support, ensuring alignment across functions.
  • Works with the marketing team to shape campaigns and business development programs.
  • Provides hands-on leadership, guiding the team to meet targets through clear expectations, coaching, and performance monitoring.
  • Identifies new prospects and evaluates emerging business opportunities, sharing updates promptly with management.
  • Establishes contact with potential partners to explore commercial collaboration.
  • Presents products and solutions to customers, ensuring accurate technical information and alternatives are clearly communicated.
  • Adapts product configurations to address customer needs and coordinates technical training as required.
  • Tracks proposals and project requirements to maintain timely responses and ensure progress.
  • Assesses customer equipment and system needs to recommend suitable solutions.
  • Provides pre- and post-sales technical service, supporting product reputation and collecting insights for improvement.
  • Analyzes product strengths, competitor positioning, and market changes to guide strategy.
  • Supports issue resolution across phone, email, or onsite channels.
  • Prepares proposals, conducts negotiations, and finalizes sales agreements.
  • Ensures timely delivery of products and services to customers.

Customer Management

  • Builds new accounts and expands presence into additional industry segments.
  • Maintains strong relationships with both existing and new customers through regular reviews and tailored recommendations.
  • Studies customer operations, workflows, concerns, and competitive environments to shape actionable plans.
  • Resolves customer issues by identifying root causes, proposing solutions, and coordinating follow-ups.
  • Manages complaint handling through investigation, solution design, monitoring, and escalation where necessary.
  • Coordinates internally across delivery, finance, credit, and operations to maintain smooth order processing.
  • Tracks and follows up on irregular credit situations.

Sales Tools & Market Intelligence

  • Ensures the availability and relevance of sales tools, materials, and updated technical resources.
  • Maintains competitive databases and monitors market trends, pricing, product development, and competitor activity.
  • Keeps product knowledge current and ensures the team applies updated information effectively.

Reporting & Administration

  • Maintains sales data and prepares regular performance reports for management.
  • Oversees timely submission of activity summaries, visit reports, customer documentation, and expense records.

General Management

  • Oversees team performance to meet objectives.
  • Ensures processes comply with internal quality standards.
  • Contributes to annual budgeting and monitors expenditure.
  • Performs other duties assigned by senior management.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering.

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in sales or technical service within related industries.
  • Proven track record managing technical products, services, or solution-based offerings.
  • Experience leading sales or technical service teams.

Skills

  • Strong capability in technical solution selling and business development planning.
  • Skilled in presenting complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively.
