Business Development Manager (Automotive and Industrial Manufacturer)

Responsibilities:

  • To achieve a sales budget and acceptable gross profit and sales in areas not necessarily budgeted for, obtain and penetrate customer product lists for opportunities and new markets.
  • Initiate, monitor, and manage market intelligence – competitors pricing and activities, market trends and demands.
  • Seek out and participate in major customer tenders and determine which products constitute the highest usage.
  • Attending and exhibiting trade shows and providing site reports.
  • Negotiate key customer and agent trading terms and rebates.
  • Resolve escalated customer conflicts and issues that arise across all departments to ensure the customer has a positive experience and has one point of contact who can coordinate a response to their question that may involve multiple departments.
  • Supply information on new technologies with regular customer visits, introduce new products in line with R&D projects, and support internal feasibility meetings.
  • Maintain strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills both internally and externally.
  • Maintain open lines of communication while working effectively in a team environment.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships through professional presentation and attitude.
  • Complete start-up, product data, and customer meeting notes.
  • Review and take action on monthly reports (GP, Nil and Keep Stock, End of Life and Partial Part Set Up, Age Debtors, or other reports when required).
  • Stock management: ICS forecasting and reports; customer forecasting; stock optimization and reduction activities; stocking policies
  • Continually look for ways to reduce waste, maintain the 5S policy, and support continuous improvement.
  • Target sales within the following market segments: aftermarket, genuine accessory, and first-tier suppliers of genuine accessories.
  • Target sales are mainly within Thailand’s domestic market but also within the greater ASEAN market.
  • Establish sound communication channels and working relationships with customers.
  • generate new business as well as maintain existing client accounts.
  • Acquire a brief from customers outlining requirements.
  • Identify solutions in line with customers’ requests and specifications.
  • Assist in coordinating or project managing customer opportunities to ensure we deliver in line with customer expectations.
  • Produce customer quotations, ensuring products meet the company’s financial targets and KPIs.
  • Creates new product presentations to support product or company promotion.
  • Make high-level presentations to customers on products and capabilities.
  • Formulate pricing options based on the target price and estimated market value.
  • Assist in the design and development of products that meet customer requirements.
  • Establish and ensure all engineering standards and quality control methods are applied.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in business administration, marketing, industrial engineering, engineering, or any related field
  • At least 7 years’ experience in sales and marketing in the automotive industry, good networking, customer service support, and business development capabilities
