Regional Industry 4.0 Project Manager

Client Background:

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with plant managers, on-site automation engineers and corporate IT and OT departments to define the requirements for Industry 4.0 projects such as: centralized SCADA, process historian, MES, and other digitized systems.
  • Work with external vendors and system integrators to finalize technical specifications and design documents.
  • Supervise the installation of new systems, ensuring they meet the technical specifications.
  • Validate that all deliverables meet quality and operational standards.
  • Ensure regional adherence to corporate IT-OT architecture, making appropriate updates when necessary to align with local needs.
  • Update and maintain the digitalization roadmap for each plant in the region, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.
  • Facilitate the understanding and implementation of governance policies and computer security best practices for operational technology across the region, in alignment with corporate guidelines.
  • Develop and implement strategies for monitoring, administration, and security of OT infrastructure assets, including servers, workstations, switches, PLCs, SCADA, and other machine control edge devices.
  • Assist in the implementation of IoT, AI, computer vision, robotics, and cloud projects, working in collaboration with data science and engineering teams.
  • Oversee CAPEX and budget planning for Industry 4.0 projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Present financial proposals, updates, and results to executive leadership for budgetary approval.

 Essential qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field such as Information Technology, Automation Engineering, or Computer Science. A bachelor’s degree is also acceptable.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial automation or similar fields.
  • Proven expertise in implementing/managing centralized SCADA, MES, process historian and/or other digitized systems.
  • Solid understanding of PLCs
  • Understanding of programming concepts.
  • Understanding of IT and OT systems and their integration.
  • Team player with good collaboration skills, strong communication abilities, excellent analytical skills, and problem-solving mindset.
